About the Workbook

Most financial tools tell you what to do with your money. This one asks you to look at what your money has been doing to youRewrite the Rules: The Fundamentals of Money Workbook is a guided self-discovery experience built around the Decade Design Model, a five-phase process developed by Jack Azar, founder of GlideView Collective, to help you see clearly, decide deliberately, and move forward with intention.

Applied here to money, the Model takes you beneath the surface of your financial habits and behaviors, through the stories you inherited, and toward the relationship with money you are capable of choosing for yourself.

This is not a budgeting tool. It is not a financial planning guide. What it offers is something most financial products do not: a clear and honest look at the story driving your financial life, and a structured path for rewriting it.

The Five Phases

Awareness

Every relationship with money has an origin. This phase takes you back to where yours began: the earliest memories, the people who shaped it, the culture that reinforced it, and the messages you absorbed before you had the awareness or language to question them. You will surface the story that has been running underneath your financial life, often without your conscious knowledge.

Reflection

Once you can see where your story came from, the next step is understanding how it lives in you today. This phase examines money through the lens of identity. How you spend, save, give, and avoid money are expressions of who you are and who you have been shaped to be. Through the Roles You Play, the Money as Identity exercises, and the Relational Constellation mapping activity, you will see your relationship with money as it actually exists, not as you assume it does.

Alignment

With awareness of your origin and a clearer picture of your identity, Alignment asks the most important question of the workbook: what still fits, and what no longer belongs? This phase helps you sort what is authentically yours from what was inherited and never truly chosen. With an honest examination of the gap between where you are and where you want to be, you will arrive at a clear picture of what needs to change and what is worth keeping.

Direction

This phase is where awareness becomes a commitment. It asks you to name the one or two shifts that matter most right now, a deliberate starting point grounded in everything you now know about yourself. You will examine what those shifts require of you, what has stopped you before, and what is different this time. Direction closes with a formal Commitment Statement, a signed declaration of what you are ready to do differently.

Action

This final phase takes everything you have uncovered, reflected on, aligned, and decided and turns it into something concrete. Through the 7-Day Action Schema and the 30-Day Practice Calendar, you will leave the workbook with specific, realistic actions tied directly to the shift you named, including a structure for holding yourself accountable as the work continues beyond the workbook.

Who this Workbook is For

This workbook is for the person who knows their relationship with money is more complicated than their behavior suggests. It is for the self-aware individual who is ready to stop managing symptoms and start understanding the source. If you have ever felt stuck, conflicted, or unclear about why you handle money the way you do, this workbook was built for you.
